One of our favorite family summer vacation destinations had always been the Breckenridge, Frisco, and Dillon areas. The area boasts several 14ers to hike, water activities, Fun Parks, and great bike paths leading from Breckenridge to Vail. Our first week-long campground was a dry-docking spot at the Prospector Campground. Dry-docking means there are no hookups at the camp site, yep…no water, no sewer, and no electricity. We love dry-docking because you save a lot of money and it forces oneself to live frugally. The Grizzly has a 100-gallon fresh water tank (drinking, showering, etc), 100-gallon black water tank (sewer), and a 100-gallon gray water tank (sink water and shower water).
Our second two-week campground was just across Lake Dillon at Heaton Bay. This camping spot had paved roads, electrical hookups, and water.
The views from both campgrounds were amazing. Lake Dillon was right outside our doorstep, pine trees were amass, and towering mountains provided us with beautiful evening backdrops.

Attended the Hogfest Bacon and Bourbon Festival in Breckenridge and rode the Gondola to the Fun Park where Kinslee found her first pile of snow…
Took a road trip to the Black Canyon National Park and Ouray, Colorado…
Indulged in some wonderful meals at our two favorite restaurants in Frisco, The Butterhorn Cafe and the Lost Cajun…
And spent time at both Frisco and Dillon’s wonderful parks…
